Stripped of his settlement and enslaved in a distant subterranean stronghold, Oren must use cunning magic and gladiatorial grit to spark a massive slave revolt.
In the third volume of the acclaimed *New Era Online* saga, Oren’s meteoric rise as a monster warlord suffers a catastrophic setback. Abruptly ambushed and captured by a powerful subterranean faction, he is dragged far from his thriving clan and stripped of his equipment, titles, and authority. Trapped in deep underground caverns as an enslaved gladiator, Oren is forced to fight in blood-soaked arena matches for the amusement of sadistic subterranean overlords. Cut off from his allies and resource stockpiles, Oren must return to his core strengths: raw cunning, improvisational biomancy, and an uncanny ability to forge desperate alliances among fellow captives to ignite a catastrophic underground revolution.
Building upon the fortified clan triumphs of Life Reset: EvP, *Life Reset: Hobnobbing* delivers an electrifying shift in audio pacing that highlights author Shemer Kuznits's versatility. Narrator Jeff Hays leans into the claustrophobic tension of the slave pits, capturing Oren’s unyielding defiance and grim survival instincts with razor-sharp intensity. The gladiatorial matches crackle with visceral kinetic energy, while the intricate planning of the prison break showcases Oren’s brilliant tactical mind operating under extreme pressure. Standing alongside arena classics like Red Rising and survival benchmarks like Dungeon Crawler Carl, this entry brings fierce narrative momentum to our LitRPG & GameLit collection.
Clocking in at over fifteen and a half suspenseful hours, *Hobnobbing* provides outstanding return on a single Audible credit. Soundbooth Theater’s immersive audio engineering—complete with echoing dungeon acoustics, clashing steel, and guttural crowd roars—turns this harrowing prison break into a gripping cinematic spectacle. For listeners who appreciate high-stakes underdog grit, inventive magical progression, and cathartic rebellion, this third installment is an absolute must-listen.
